Arvag Ltd were successful in our tendered bid for the above buildings to upgrade the submains, small power, emergency lighting, exterior lighting and their associated distribution boards. We also undertook the replacement of various plasterboard ceilings and the suspended ceilings throughout. It was a tenanted building but what made this one even more difficult it was during Covid-19. The works consisted of a full strip out and waste removal with temporary lighting and power installed throughout.
Once stripped back to the bare shell apart from existing heating pipework we set about installing our containment. We had both LV and Mains containment to install and conduit for the Submains and LV circuits. After the wiring was complete and before the ceilings went back up we instructed our BM Trada approved FRA team to undertake all of the fireproofing works throughout. Once this was done the Refurbishment Team came through and installed, plastered and painted the ceilings and started to install the grid for the suspended ceilings making sure we left the tile replacement until last to save on damage.
All the time the works were being undertaken our waste and clean team were making sure the site was kept clean at all times as this was a residential building.
Towards the end we picked up extra works for the door closure system. For this, we had to modify the existing fire alarm system throughout both blocks and again we used our BAFE registered Fire Alarm Department to successfully complete the works.
This really proved to the client we are the one-stop contractor that they were looking for.
